Review # 8: Anastasia

Were on a journey to the review of Anastasia on Broadway! So come along as I review this lovely fairy tale about the past.

Plot: The story is similar to the movie that has the same name that came out in 1997. Anastasia is a story an about a princess named Anastasia. After her grandmother leaves for Paris, Anastasia and her family have been attacked. Anastasia is the only one in her family that survived the attack, but there is one problem, she forgot who it was. Days have gone by and people are starting to hear rumors that Princess Anastasia is still alive, and if found there will be a reward. Dmitry and Vlad hear of this prize and they try to find an Anastasia. Dmitry finds this pretty girl that he likes named Anya who seems to be the best fit for an Anastasia. Little does Anya know that she is the princess. A man named Gleb hears that Anya maybe be Princess Anastasia. He wants to complete his father's job and kill the princess so he follows them to Paris. Will Anastasia find everything to her past? Will Dmitry share his feels towards Anya? Will Gleb fulfill his father's density? Find out in Anastasia on Broadway. I loved the story so much it showed that people can find their ways to the past. There was a couple of changes from the movie to the Broadway show like instead of making the show magical, they made it more historical which I thought was pretty cool. Other than that change the story was still the same from the movie to the show.

Characters: Every character was so beautifully written. Anya was a very loveable character and brought the joy and the mystery to the story. I could see all the girls fangirl over the male lead, Dmitry (Derek Klena)  as he brought the romance into the story. Vlad and his girlfriend Lily brought the fun and joy to the show, and of course Gleb was a great villain to have in the show. Also the kids in the show were really cute. I really enjoyed all the characters and they were all great and amazing in their roles

Songs: After you hear all of these songs you will want to hear them over and over again. Some of the songs from the movie were in the musical so if you like the movie you may want to see the musical. They also added some new songs as well. Some songs like Once Upon A December, In a Crowd of Thousands, A Rumor in St. Petersburg, and the well-known song that you'll know if you have seen the musical or the movie is Journey To The Past. In all of these songs are loveable and you will fall in love with the soundtrack and what it has in store for you.

Sets: The sets from Anastasia are nothing like anything else. The backgrounds changes to create a beautiful scene of goodness. The sets change to how the mood is changing and how they affect the characters. These set are probably the best sets I have ever seen and if you like to see Broadway sets in action I recommend you should see Anastasia.

In all the show was great. Great songs, great characters, great story. Everything was great about this show. I think anyone could go see this show with a family with kids, teens, and adults will love Anastasia also I think the people who loved the movie should totally see Anastasia. This show has a Disney feel to it so if you like Disney's show you should see Anastasia. I hope all of you guys get a chance to see Anastasia on Broadway.
