Review # 7: Hello Dolly!

Hello, Dollies! Welcome back to another Broadway Review. Today I'm gonna review the new 2017 Broadway revival of Hello Dolly. Let's go!

Plot: The plot was about this widowed matchmaker named Dolly Levi. Dolly is trying to match the half of a millionaire from Yonkers, Horace Vandergelder with someone. Dolly wants that someone to be her. So she tells Horace that the girl of his dreams is in New York City. Horace, Dolly, Horace's niece, Ermengarde, and her boyfriend, Ambrose goes to New York City. Meanwhile, Horace's two young employees, Cornelius and Barnaby, overheard that their boss is going to New York City. It's been Cornelius' dream to go to New York, and since he is 33 he wants to kiss a girl, so Cornelius and Barnaby go to New York as well so they can kiss some girls. The two men run into Irene (Horace's ex). and Minnie who run the local hat shop in town and they both fell in love with them. Horace doesn't know that Cornelius and Barnaby are in New York. Will Horace find out about Cornelius and Barnaby's disappearance? Will Cornelius live out his dreams of kissing a girl? Will Horace find love? And if so will that love be the great Dolly Levi? Find out in Hello Dolly! This was a great classic story to watch and I couldn't wait to see what happened next.

Characters: The characters where amazing! I didn't see Bette Midler as the famous Dolly Levi, but  Donna Murphy was so much fun to see as Dolly. The other actors were amazing as well! Cornelius and Irene brought the romance to the story. Horace, Minnie, and Barnaby were so amazingly fun to watch, and of course, Dolly Levi would always make you smile as she came on the stage. The characters are loveable as anything you would want your characters to be.

Songs: The songs are amazingly brilliant. These songs were very catchy such as Penny in My Pocket, Put On Your Sunday Clothes, It Takes A Woman, Before The Parade Passes By, and many other songs that make you want to clap along. Oh, and how can I forget the most amazing song in the whole show that's named after that show, Hello Dolly. The song is so classic and the tune will make you sing it all night long. In all the songs are so great.

Sets: The sets are as great as the show. Mostly the part  Put On Your Sunday Clothes, where a big train comes and to pick up the people in Yonkers to go to New York City. It was nothing like I ever seen before! It was like classic Broadway came back on stage again. It was just amazing to see. In my book, the sets are lit!

In the end, Hello Dolly was great and I'm so glad it won it's Tonys. I say this is a show to take adults, teens, and maybe kids 9 and up to see the show. In all Hello, Dolly is a great show and I hope you guys can get a chance to see Hello Dolly!
