Review # 12: Escape To Margaritaville

So I saw the show Escape To Margaritaville, the Jimmy Buffett Musical. So grab your margarita drink (or not if you're under 21), and let's get on with the review!

Plot: The story is about two girls named Rachel and Tammy. Tammy is about to get married soon, so before she gets married, she and Rachel decide to go on a trip to Margaritaville. Meanwhile two best friends Tully and Brick, who both work at the Margaritaville Hotel, are unhappy since they can't have a long-term relationship with anyone since people come and go around there. Rachel and Tammy finally get to the hotel, and Tully instantly starts flirting with Rachel. The two become close as Tully teaches Rachel to play the guitar and to not worry about work for a while and try to enjoy life. Tammy and Brick also become close as they share some funny moments together. As Tammy and Rachel's trip comes to an end, Tully soon realizes that he is in love with Rachel. Will Tully express his feelings to Rachel before it's too late? Will Tammy have to pick between her husband to be or Brick? And will anything else happen at Margaritaville Hotel? Find out in Escape To Margaritaville. I loved the story! It was super amazing and had a lot of twists at the end. The story was totally worth checking out.

Characters: The leads, Tully and Rachel were so cute together. Honestly, I'd never thought someone who is too involved in work like Rachel would fall for a chilled, relaxed dude like Tully but they obviously make their relationship work. Eric Petersen (who played Brick) was so funny to watch. His tap dancing part was super fun to watch and his parts where so funny to see. Tammy scenes were good, but I thought her parts could have been better, like this one scene were she flies, I thought her flying was oddly placed and they should have not let her fly then. Marley who was the owner of the hotel and J.D. (no, not the murderous boyfriend in Heathers) who stayed at the hotel, also had some funny parts as well with there songs. Overall the characters were fun and lovable.

Songs: As most people know, the songs are based on the songs of Jimmy Buffett. I thought the songs where perfectly placed and pretty good for a musical. I thought they were fun and very beach like. The songs were pretty good in my book.

Sets: The sets were so cool! Honestly, the way they get the band on stage is great. They kinda have a little mini stage next to the band so Tully can sing with them and it was fabulous. They also had two little beach bungalows next to the stage where you can see people interact inside them. The way they changed to Margaritaville to where Tammy and Rachel live is fun too because it starts to snow and it's so adorable! I really loved these sets!

Overall Escape To Margaritaville was fun! I wouldn't take kids to see this because there are some scenes that are too weird and not right for little kids to be watching, and there are one or two cursing moments. Adults who wanna have a good time and teenagers should totally see it because it's an overall feel-good show. Also, fans of Jimmy Buffett, or "Parrot Heads" as they call them, should totally see this show because of the music. The show is totally worth checking out and it totally leads up to it's saying: "More than a musical, it's a way of  life." So make sure to check out this beach themed, Jimmy Buffett musical, Escape To Margaritaville.
